Job Description
Reporting to the Vice President for Stewardship and Donor Relations, the Community Engagement Manager works in collaboration with the Associate Vice President, Development, Fairfield County to support and manage fundraising and community engagement activities of Connecticut Children’s in Fairfield County. Working with high net-worth volunteers, Foundation colleagues, senior administrators, and physicians, the Community Engagement Manager is responsible for managing events and coordinating volunteers and Foundation communications in the region.
Responsibilities
Establish and maintain relationships with public and private organizations, non-profits, schools, and local communities to advance the strategic goals of Connecticut Children’s Foundation.
Design, plan, and coordinate events to promote the organization's activities in the community.
Collaborate with the AVP Development, Fairfield County to identify, engage, cultivate and steward major gift donors and key volunteers based in Fairfield County.
Ensures the proper acknowledgment and recognition for assigned donors. Monitors stewardship activities, implements reporting schedules, coordinates recognition events, etc.
Staffs volunteer committees, serving as the committee members’ primary liaison to the institution; plans and leads committee meetings; facilitates the successful realization of a committee’s goals.
Identify, research, and analyze current and potential community engagement initiatives.
Create and manage community campaigns to increase public awareness of our organization and initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Required
High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
Minimum two years of experience in community engagement, sales, fundraising, marketing, or related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Previous experience planning and executing events a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of Salesforce or similar database helpful
Skilled at:
Polished communication and presentation skills
Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop relationships with a broad range of personalities.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills that allow you to make a compelling case for Connecticut Children’s mission and investment priorities.
Strong organizational skills
Ability to:
Demonstrated ability to work independently and to successfully prioritize and complete an array of tasks and projects at one time. Attention to detail and meeting tight deadlines are critical for success.
