About the Role
The Community & Events Coordinator will play a key role in expanding Magna’s brand presence within sports communities across the U.S. This role requires a dynamic, on-the-ground presence to lead community outreach, sampling initiatives, and event partnerships. The ideal candidate thrives on building relationships and making Magna the go-to hydration partner for run clubs, studios, gyms, and community organizations—reaching thousands of new customers.
This person must have an active presence in a sport(s) community (think – run club, hiking group, yoga or pilates studio, gym, etc)
This position must be based in the Los Angeles metropolitan area and will report to the Head of Athlete & Sport Marketing.
Key Responsibilitie
Community & Event Activation
Build and manage relationships with key sports communities, including gyms, studios, and wellness organizations.
Plan and execute strategic sampling initiatives and brand activations at local events (e.g., run clubs, hiking groups, fitness studios).
Track and analyze event success, providing insights to improve future initiatives.
Community Engagement & Digital Growth
Serve as the primary contact for local ambassadors, partners, and community leaders.
Identify and cultivate new opportunities for brand growth through community and event partnerships.
Assist in managing and engaging Magna’s digital community through events, driving social shares and brand awareness.
Retail & Sampling Support
Support retail and wholesale partnerships through in-store and digital activations.
Manage Magna’s sampling platform to optimize outreach, conversion and tracking.
Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience in event planning, community management, or brand partnerships.
Active member of at least one sports community (e.g., running, yoga, pilates, training, hiking).
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask.
Experience with social media engagement and digital community-building strategies.
Passion for health, wellness, and sports.
Availability to work weekends and travel approximately one week per month.
