Hampton is a private network for high-growth founders and CEOs. Our community is made up of entrepreneurs who run tech-enabled companies with $3m+ in revenue. Our members are passionate about building successful tech companies and fosters meaningful conversations, knowledge sharing, and networking opportunities.

We’re looking for a Community Manager to join our team to manage, plan and execute our digital and in person events and experiences. This role will focus on our hub cities on the east coast and midwest.

This role will support our Head of Community and collaborate with our Community Manager (West Coast) and play a pivotal part in nurturing and managing our community.

This position must require exceptional communication skills, empathy for the entrepreneurial journey, strong organizational abilities, and experience planning and executing in person and digital events.

Location: Must live on the east coast, strong preference for New York City.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan memorable and unique member dinners and bespoke in person events/experiences across our East Coast and Midwest Hub Cities, creating a robust, unique and exciting event calendar.

  • Drive, plan and execute our digital event programming, maintaining an exciting event calendar that includes hosting industry thought leaders and experts.

  • Ensure our members have a positive experience at Hampton through personalized support, addressing inquiries, gathering feedback, and proactively identifying opportunities to enhance member experience and inform community development.

  • Responsible for end-to-end management of events, such as marketing events to members, curating guest lists, budgeting and creating run of shows.

  • Analyze feedback from events to constantly improve and iterate our events and initiatives.

  • Collaborate with the Community and Membership team to create systems and SOPs that allow us to scale our community efforts and ensure all members' needs are being met.

  • Keep your finger on the pulse of conversations in Slack so that we can identify proactive opportunities to host events, support our members, design programming, and create surprise and delight moments.

  • Stay up-to-date with trends, tools and best practices in online and in person community management, tech entrepreneurship, and relevant industries to continuously improve the community experience for our members.

  • Introduce members to one another and facilitate introductions based on shared interests, industries, or goals, helping members build meaningful relationships and connections within the community.

  • Hosting Hampton events, acting as one of the faces of Hampton to our members. Occasional travel to Hampton events.

Qualifications:

  • You will be a very visible presence in the community - so this means your presence, energy, and demeanor must be top-notch!

  • Proven experience in community management, preferably in the VC or tech industry or with professional membership communities.

  • A natural relationship-builder, capable of fostering a sense of community and trust amongst members.

  • Proficiency in planning and executing both digital and in-person events, from ideation to post-event follow-up. We are looking for someone who loves and has experience playing host, both IRL and digitally.

  • Hospitality first approach to community building through thoughtful, warm and creative interactions

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and moderate conversations in a professional and inclusive manner.

  • Ability to work independently and remotely, with a high degree of self-motivation and accountability.

  • Passion for tech entrepreneurship and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by founders and CEOs of fast-growing tech companies.

  • Marketing/writing background is a plus.

  • Founder or entrepreneur is a plus.

  • Great sense of humor is a plus.

Salary range: $80-110k, dependent on experience
