This role is to support the establishment and growth of a community/ies of practice among technologists at the bank, focussed on building and sharing cybersecurity best practice. The initial focus will be application security and working with developers (full stack and development engineers) and those responsible for the triage of code (i.e. scanning, classifying and remediating vulnerabilities). The role may also require engagement with other technical roles.

Tasks

Participate in working groups/ feedback sessions and communities of practice to understand end user feedback on Cyber Education and Awareness platforms (e.g. Secure Code Warrior), materials and initiatives.
Identify and monitor general channels and forums used by engineers at the bank (not cybersecurity-specific ones), represent Cyber Education and Awareness and highlight relevant topics/threads to other teams within Cybersecurity where appropriate.
Recommend and implement changes to Cyber Education and Awareness programme to address end user feedback.
Drive internal social engagement with Cybersecurity Education and Awareness materials including
Drafting, posting and managing content
Responding to comments and feedback
Sentiment analysis and early identification of issues facing end-users of Cyber Education and Awareness services and materials.
Design and manage initiatives to celebrate Secure Code Warrior ‘power users’ and Security Champions.
Support in delivering annual ‘Ultimate Secure Code Warrior Tournament’, a flagship event to engage developers hosted during Cyber Awareness Month.
Work closely with teams across Cybersecurity department plus Global Engineering, CTO and Tech Academy.

Requirements

Experience of working with developers – either as one yourself or a previous role responsible for engaging developers.
Foundational understanding of secure development principles (e.g. familiarity with OWASP, secure development lifecycle) so that you are ‘able to speak developers’ language’.
Experience of working in matrixed organisations.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences.
Experience of managing or being an active member of communities online and in-person.
Ability to spot trending or brewing issues and confidence to escalate them in a timely manner.
A team player and able to build positive and collaborative working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders within a multi-function team based on integrity and trust.
