Developer Advocate
About the Job
As developer advocate, you will be responsible for building the Yugabyte developer community, driving developer engagement, accelerating the roadmap, and building content to assist with the adoption of the technology. You are expected to work relatively autonomously and drive the developer relations charter. Your role will be instrumental in driving adoption of Distributed SQL technology. You’ll work directly with product, marketing, and leadership to maximize influence, build partnerships, and create a seamless experience for users.
Job Responsibilities
Develop the DevRel strategy, processes, and tech stack.
Build and nurture a thriving community of developers both online and offline. Engaging with our large Slack community and other social media platforms (Reddit, X, LinkedIn, etc) to drive brand awareness, brand loyalty, and knowledge of product development.
Represent Yugabyte at industry events, lead demos, and produce technical content.
Build groundswell of positive public sentiment and community, either physically or virtually (ex. within Slack).
Attend developer-focused conferences such as KubeCon, PGCon and execute on Yugabyte-run developer meetups.
Produce content(demos, blogs, webinars), both live and recorded, to increase feature/product awareness and build community.
Ensure that developer-facing content is top-notch and impactful.
Foster strong relationships with key technical stakeholders to grow the community at scale.
Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
3+ years professional experience in developer relations and scaled programs from the ground up.
Passionate about the latest trends in the database and cloud infrastructure market
Experience with Open Source Communities
Strong curiosity about understanding new technologies and adept at conveying their value to business executives and software development leaders.
Past experience managing Slack or other virtual communities.
Active in social media with good following in an relevant community
Past experience working with B2B SaaS startups.
Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong creativity and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
You have a proven track record of driving growth and success in previous roles.
