About the Job
The Senior Developer Relations Engineer at Polygon Labs plays a critical role in promoting and evangelizing Polygon Labs’ suite of blockchain products. This individual is responsible for creating high-quality technical documentation, tutorials, and reference implementations to help developers integrate with Polygon technology. They engage actively with the developer community through forums, social media, and events, providing technical support and gathering valuable feedback to support product development.
The role also involves representing Polygon Labs at industry events, conducting training sessions, and fostering relationships with developers to drive adoption of Polygon technology.
This position demands a blend of technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for blockchain technology. The Senior DevRel Engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure developer needs are met and promotes cross-chain innovation through partnerships with other blockchain projects. By supporting developers, creating educational content, and participating in community activities, the DevRel Engineer helps build a robust and engaged developer community around Polygon technology.
Job Responsibilities
Create and maintain high-quality, comprehensive technical documentation for Polygon technology
Develop tutorials, guides, and API references to support developer onboarding and integration
Design and develop reference implementations and sample applications showcasing Polygon technology
Create and maintain open-source projects that demonstrate best practices for building on Polygon networks
Produce technical blog posts, articles, and whitepapers explaining Polygon technology and their applications
Create video tutorials, webinars, and educational content for various developer skill levels
Develop and deliver technical presentations, workshops, and training sessions for developers
Host regular AMAs (Ask Me Anything) sessions and developer-focused events
Encourage and support open-source contributions from the community, maintaining a healthy and collaborative community
Attend and support blockchain hackathons, representing Polygon Labs
Mentor participants, judge projects, and provide technical assistance during events
Evaluate and review submissions for developer bounties and challenges
Propose and manage new bounty programs to incentivize development on Polygon networks
Engage with developers at conferences, meetups, and online forums
Build relationships with key developers and influencers in the blockchain space
Identify and nurture potential partnerships with projects and developers
Developer Surveys and Feedback Loops: Conduct surveys and feedback loops to understand developer needs and pain points.
Actively participate in community forums, Discord channels, and social media platforms
Provide timely and accurate technical support to developers building on Polygon networks
Stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and competitors in the blockchain space
Provide insights and recommendations to improve Polygon technology developer experience and product offerings
Work closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams to align developer relations efforts with company goals
Provide developer feedback to internal teams to influence product roadmaps and improvements
Skills & Experience
Strong experience in software development, particularly in blockchain concepts, cryptography, distributed systems and smart contracts
Proficiency in programming languages such as Solidity and other smart contract languages, JavaScript, Python, or Rust
Experience with Ethereum, EVM-compatible chains, and Layer 2 scaling solutions, as well as other blockchain platforms
Familiarity with Web3 development tools and frameworks (e.g., Hardhat, Truffle, Web3.js, Ethers.js)
Knowledge of zero-knowledge proofs and ZK-rollup technologies is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
Proven experience in creating technical documentation, tutorials, and other educational content
Ability and interest to create written and video content to explain complex concepts and products in a simpler manner enabling smoother onboarding of devs and contributors
Experience participating in or organizing hackathons, conferences, and other developer-focused events
Active participation in developer communities and forums, with a strong presence on platforms like Discord, GitHub, and Twitter
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively
Experience providing technical support and mentoring to developers
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and marketing
Strong network within the blockchain and developer communities, with the ability to influence and drive adoption
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Additional certifications or continuous learning in blockchain technology is a plus
